PATH leaves customers stranded, without answers
BREAKING NEWS

The PATH of New York and New Jersey was at a complete standstill, and no one seems to know why - especially the staff.
Commuters traveling to New York from New Jersey were stranded and left without answers Saturday night when the PATH trains completely shut down.
Workers at the Hoboken station acted careless and gave little answers to commuters stuck in New Jersey trying to make it into Manhattan. Both the Newark bound and 33rd street trains were all halted, but no one seems to know why.
PATH employees in Hoboken used the shutdown as a good excuse to take a long break. Both employees and transit police refused to offer answers or assistance to frazzled customers. Rather than offering alternate routes or stopping riders before they paid their fare, employees were avoiding customers at all costs.
When cornered and asked about the problem, one PATH customer seemed robotic only knowing one response, "if you're looking for PATH train, you aren't going to get it here." That same staff member later blamed 'signal problems.'
We placed a call to the PATH emergency line, and they told us that the trains were all running as scheduled. The PATH website also claimed that all trains were running on time as travelers scattered to find an alternate route.
This unexplained outage left customers extremely angry as the PATH just raised their rates effective March 2nd.
While we understand that accidents happen, the key is in handling the situation well... something the PATH organization clearly did not do.
Maybe we're asking for too much but raised fares should result in improved service. That definitely doesn't seem to be the case with the new, more expensive PATH.
We have a crew on the scene, and we will keep you posted of further developments (if we can find answers). That clearly means that the PATH will have to figure out what is going on first. I won't hold my breath.
Thumbs down to the PATH and to the staff at that station, SHAME ON YOU!
