Britney Spears is making her return to prime-time TV.

Evidently the "Gimme More" singer has gotten permission for her father/ conservator Jamie Spears to appear on "How I Met Your Mother."

The show is produced by FOX for CBS, and the episode featuring Britney could air as soon as next month.

"How I Met Your Mother" is on the chopping block for cancellation, so Spears' appearance could be a win-win for everyone involved.

Does anyone else remember how funny Britney was when she did a cameo on "Will & Grace?" It was HILARIOUS!

This could be a great start to a much needed comeback for Britney Spears!
