Country singer John Rich is homophobic
John Rich of the country bumpkin band Big & Rich is a homophobe. In an interview with the Tennessean, Rich said he is backing Fred Thompson because they're both conservatives.
In the same interview, John Rich - the homophobic country singer, said this about legalizing gay marriage:
"I think if you legalize that, you've got to legalize some other things that are pretty unsavory," he says. "You can call me a radical, but how can you tell an aunt that she can't marry her nephew if they are really in love and sharing the bills? How can you tell them they can't get married, but something else that's unnatural can happen?"
I find that this next moves comes very natural to me, on behalf of the GaySocialites, I would like to induct John Rich of Big & Rich into the GaySocialites.com Stupid Bitches Club.
Is it 1942? Do people still talk like that? Those hillbillies need some socialization.

This SO doesn't surprise me. The country music industry has – at least sense George W. Bush and his neo-con/corporate cohorts took office (literally) – shown itself to be every bit as "stereotypically" bigoted as it is often perceived to be. I mean – listen to Charlie Daniels' anti-gay, anti-black, anti-Arab rants; look at all the fallout experienced by the Dixie Chicks for having a dissenting voice; look at Reba McEntire's fall in-line pose with everything Republican.
Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, the late Johnny Cash and the aforementioned Dixie Chicks aside, country has declined into the racist, sexist, homophobic, highly bigoted "art form" it has long been believed to be!
