The College Scene Livens Up on Weekdays!

The New York nightlife scene is shifting to weekdays, and it looks like the gay college crowd is following! This Tuesday kicks off something entirely new, a free 18 and over weekday party.
Tuesday nights suddenly got Tragic as Steve Sidewalk and Charles Winters make their East Village debut at Boysroom. This crazy combo is known for their 18 and over mega parties all over the New York metro area, but now the duo says they are moving into unchartered territory - weeknights!
How do you get college kids to rub to elbows with the creme de la creme of the weekend night elite? According to Steve Sidewalk you should offer variety, cheap drinks, little or no cover and a taste of the VIP feel from typical weeknight parties.
"Our Tragic party at Boysroom will be the perfect mix of a laid back environment filled with a VIP crowd that just wants to chill and have fun," says DJ Sidewalk. "I promise this party is going to be different than anything else you have ever seen! We are playing Nintendo, drinking games and twister while listening to everything from Ace of Base to Justin Timberlake and anything that falls in-between."
Charles Winters has been working with several New York City venues to offer gay options throughout the week. Over the summer, he has teamed up with Chip Duckett, Rik Parker and the folks at 49 Grove Lounge to provide a weekly top of the line gay socialite party in the East Village. He said Tragic at Boysroom will be a mix of that VIP experience with the laid back environment like you see at most college weekend parties.
Over the past few years, weekends have become "bridge and tunnel" meaning that a lot of party goers from outside Manhattan shuttle into the city clubs on Fridays and Saturdays to get drunk and dirty. Today, it looks like the college crowd is ready to take the more sophisticated plunge.
Tragic Tuesdays at Boysroom premiers this Tuesday, August 29th at 10pm. The line-up boast 2-for-1 drinks, no cover charge, tons of flash backs and a live performance by Valeze rocker, Tiffany Randol. Boysroom is located at 211 Avenue A at the corner of 13th street.

Monday on Showtime, Mary Louise Parker and the Weeds crew showed us that once again this fall we're all going to be addicted to 'Weeds.'
They're known for the insane Rock-n-Roll style and their outrageous frontwoman Tiff Randol, but after this Thursday Valeze may be known for making waves through Manhattan.
This year's election may not seem to important here in New York. There are no presidential candidates on the ballot, and Hillary Clinton seems to be on her way back to the Senate. While both of those may be true, this is actually an important election year. The New York Attorney General's seat is being vacated by Elliott Spitzer as he runs for governor. It's our choice to make a decision in race that may not usually be that important in the LGBT community.
